OURVALUES

Who We Are

Jesus

He is God. All things were created by Him, for Him, and through Him. He is the Alpha and Omega, the first and last, the beginning and end. We exist for Him. Our purpose is to worship Him by enjoying Him. We will be Jesus-centered in everything that we do as a church.

Hebrews 1:3,8
Colossians 1:15-20
Revelations 22:13

Gospel

The gospel is God’s message of good news that Jesus Christ came to live, die, and rise again for the forgiveness of sin. The gospel renews and brings redeemed sinners under God’s gracious reign and will one day culminate with the renewal of all things. The gospel brings us back home to God for life that is truly life—here and now. We will be a gospel-centered people.

Biblical

The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, being given by divine inspiration, are the Word of God, the only infallible and inerrant rule of faith and practice. We will treasure the Bible, study it, and submit ourselves to its authority. All our teaching and preaching will be based on the Bible because the Word of God leads us to know God Himself.

People

Humans are the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created people as the crowning work of His creation. Despite our rebellion, God continues to love people and calls them to repent and run to Him. Since God values people, we value people—all of them. We celebrate diversity, will honor one another, and will be a welcoming, hospitable people.

1 John 4:10
1 Peter 4:9
Ephesians 4:1-3

Commitment

The Scriptures repeatedly describe God as faithful to His commitments. As a church, we will reflect the glory of God by being a committed people. We will be contributors, not consumers. We will be givers, not accumulators. We will be committed church members, not casual church attenders.
We will be servants, not customers.

Proverbs 16:3
John 14:15
Matthew 20:26
2 Corinthians 9:5-7

Multiplication

The mission of God is to create a people for Himself that will treasure Him above everything else. God sends His people, the Church, on His mission to make disciples for Him through the gospel. We are participating with God in His unfolding plan of renewal. Our calling is to multiply. We are not ministry-maintainers. We are disciple-makers and church-multipliers.

Matthew 28:18-20
2 Timothy 2:2

Intentional

We serve an intentional God. In eternity past God planned creation and redemption for the praise of His name. We reflect God’s character when we are intentional and purposeful with everything we do as a church. Every partnership, gathering, ministry, and event will intentionally contribute toward accomplishing our church’s mission.

Ephesians 1:3-14; 5:16
Colossians 4:5

Simple

The aim is a healthy church, not a busy church. Simplicity requires focused excellence; we will be focused on making the best disciples, not the best programs. Busyness robs us of time and energy required to have a restored soul with God.

John 15:4-5
